About Us

ipaddresslocation.net provides instant visibility into your public IP address and an approximate IP address location using reputable IP geolocation datasets—delivered with a privacy-first approach.

Our Mission

Make essential network information (IPv4/IPv6, ISP/ASN, time zone, and IP location) simple, fast, and respectful of user privacy for everyone.

What We Do

We help individuals and teams understand how their connection presents on the internet. Common use cases include quick IP lookups, validating IP location for regional rules, confirming the IANA time zone and UTC offset associated with a connection, and troubleshooting routing issues with ISPs or corporate networks.

How It Works

When the page loads, your browser exposes your public IP so the internet can return responses to you. We momentarily process that IP to compute:

Results are rendered immediately. To improve responsiveness for repeat lookups, we employ a short-lived cache that is rotated on a fixed schedule.

Accuracy & IP Location Limitations

IP geolocation indicates a network presence (for example, an ISP point of presence) rather than a precise street address. Corporate NAT, VPN/proxy services, mobile carrier gateways (CGNAT), content delivery networks, and anycast routing can shift the apparent IP location. Dataset quality and update cadence vary by region and provider. For additional context, see our website disclaimer.

Privacy & Data Retention

We practice privacy by design. We do not use tracking cookies, cross-site profiling, fingerprinting, or advertising identifiers. We collect only the minimum data necessary to deliver results, and transient caches are purged on a rolling schedule.

Operational logs are restricted to security and reliability needs (for example, abuse detection, rate limiting, and uptime monitoring). These logs are retained for a bounded period and then deleted. For details on categories of data and retention practices, refer to our privacy policy.

Security & Coordinated Disclosure

We welcome vulnerability reports. Please include a clear description, reproduction steps, and any impact assessment you can share. We follow coordinated disclosure norms and work with researchers to validate issues and ship fixes promptly. Credit is provided upon request after remediation. See the Contact section below for how to reach us.

Accessibility & Reliability

We aim for a fast, lightweight experience and strive to align with WCAG 2.1 AA guidance. The service is monitored for availability and performance, and we continuously iterate on usability, keyboard navigation, and semantics to support assistive technologies.

Data Sources & Attribution

Our results combine multiple reputable IP geolocation datasets with public internet routing information (for example, BGP/ASN data). Source providers and methodologies may evolve over time to improve coverage and precision. Because policies and networks differ across regions, accuracy can vary.

Values We Follow

Privacy by design: minimal collection, no tracking, no profiling.

Clarity: plain-language explanations of what IP data can—and cannot—tell you.

Performance: lightweight pages, optimized queries, and fast responses.

Neutrality: no dark patterns; essential features remain free to use.
